Google Adsense Account Status

Hello Edward Young,

It has come to our attention that invalid clicks have been generated on
the Google ads on your site(s). In the future, we may adjust your
payment for any days during which invalid clicks occurred in order to
properly credit advertisers for any invalid activity.

As a reminder, any method of generating invalid clicks is strictly
prohibited. Invalid clicks include but are not limited to any clicks
that are generated through the use of robots, automated clicking tools,
manual clicks by a publisher on the publisher’s own web pages, or a
publisher encouraging others to click on his ads.

If you are clicking on the ads on your web pages for testing purposes,
please note that clicking on your own ads or encouraging others to do
so for any reason is prohibited, due to the potential for inflation of
advertiser costs. Please be assured that there is no need to test the
ads on your site, as our specialists review all of our ads to ensure
that they meet Google’s advertising standards.

If you would like to visit the destination of an ad to view its content
or to add it to your filter list, you can use the AdSense Preview Tool,
available here:

https://www.google.com/adsense/previewtool?hl=en_US

The Google AdSense preview tool is an addition to the right-click menu
for Windows Internet Explorer 6.x, allowing you to preview the ads that
may show on any web page. Clicks and impressions from the preview tool
are not applied to the advertiser’s account. You can click through to
the target site without worrying about invalid clicks being generated
on your account, and without costing the advertiser for your test
clicks.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reply to this email. We
will be happy to help in any way we can.

Sincerely,

The Google Team

What is Google’s Problem?

Google has been making quite a big fuss recently over the search box included in Microsoft IE7. Apparently, Microsoft decided to make the default search engine for the search box in IE7 to be the MSN search engine. This is no big surprise as any company would choose to drive users to their own products. I think this tactic is similar to Google placing links to their Desktop Search application on their front page. I am no business major but I think it makes sense to promote your own products.

I do not understand how Google can make a big deal about the default search engine in a browser when the search box in Firefox defaults to Google! IE7 provides an easy way to change the default search engine. I, along with the DOJ, fail to see the problem that Google is having with this.

Would Google make a big fuss if Microsoft defaulted to some other search engine such as Yahoo? I think this is a case of Google having a little too much free time on their hands. Or perhaps they are trying to gain more attention and publicity by continuing to talk about this in the news. Google, if you are so bored, why don’t you just make your own browser and make the default search engine whatever you feel is appropriate.

Google Adsense Error Page

So last night I at around 11:30 PM I decided to check my adsense account. To my surprise, I encountered this page (click to enlarge):

Adsense Error Page

That is quite the error page. I guess they want to make sure everyone understands that AdSense is down. It looks like there are about 23 translations of the error message.
