Oh they’re so tall!

I did not have my camera on Saturday but Rob did! We had our pictures taken with the eventual winners of the tournament. We caught Mike Lambert while he was making his way off the court. We actually got introduced to the lovely Kerri Walsh. I think she probably forgot our names by now though. :(

(Thank you again Karen for introducing us)

AVP tournament this past weekend at Coney Island

Had a great time this weekend at Coney Island watching some pro beach volleyball. The atmosphere was great with almost all of the players walking around with the fans. The ones that I encountered are all down to earth and willing to sign autographs and pose for photos. I did get to meet Kerri Walsh! We were introduced through a mutual friend. I’m sure she’s already forgotten my name. :( But hey, I was on TV a lot this weekend since I had great seats in the first few rows! Check it out, I’m in middle right of this picture, with the white hat on!

I’ll have more pictures up soon. Hopefully AVP will come back to NY next year!

Team Bonding

Graduation Balloons

How often do you see a 25 year old carrying 5 helium filled ballons tied to his back pack around New York City? Well if you were around me tonight, you would have been a witness. A team present for graduating from graduate school led to the embarrassment. =) (Thanks guys!) Yes, I did carry them from Saigon Grill to Brandeis High School, on the C train to Penn Station, on the LIRR to Malverne, and finally in my car to my house.

Tonight my Urban Professionals volleyball team got together for a team dinner. We’ve been struggling of late so we decided to get together for an activity outside of volleyball. Can team bonding outside of volleyball lead to improved performance on the court? The Detroit Pistons and New Jersey Nets are known for hanging out off the court. Does that necessarily lead to improved performance when the team gets together for the job they were formed to do? Well, the Pistons are in the Eastern Conference Finals and the New Jersey Nets made it to the second round of the playoffs so it just might.
