<a href="#comment-56039" rel="nofollow">@FPOGNANT </a>

Clearing the internal log buffer worked. At my desk I have 5 different desktop computers, and I use them each to RDP into different servers or to run different network monitoring apps. I had this same problem on three of them, and clearing the internal log buffer on the ones that were displaying corrected the issue on them all.

Thanks!

Symantec has posted a solution to your problem, you can now use up to Java 1.6 update 4. See here: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/docid/2008011423353848

Also not sure if you are aware but you can have more than one version of Java installed on a machine. Then all you have to do is point the shortcut to Remote Endpoint Manager to the correct version of java. Here is my shortcut for Remote Endpoint Manager. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.5.0_15\bin\javaws.exe" "C:\Users\\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\javaws\http\D\P\DMservlet\AMJnlpServlet"

If you compare your shortcut to what I have you will see what I changed.

In my case I just uninstalled Java 6 Update 11 and most of my Java apps such as Cisco ASDM and Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Console started working again. I guess if you don't need the changes in Update 11 you might be ok.

Launch ASDM and connect to your firewall
At file menu, select "clear internal log buffer" and click button "Refresh"
Have to do it again each time you launc ASDM
